Rumble Piano Studio offers piano lessons to students of all ages and experience levels both virtually and in-person. The studio is built on a foundation of trust and enjoyment by all students, with the enjoyment and advancement of students being the primary goal. With younger students, the Faber Piano Method is the most used method of Rumble Piano Studio; however, an open mind is kept to all methods and styles of learning to fit the needs of the students. All students will be expected to set progress goals for themselves, as well as keep a practice log or journal for their own use and encouragement.
The teaching philosophy of Rumble Piano Studio is one that is focused on the student's needs and goals for lessons. Lessons will focus on the fundamentals of piano playing such as technique, active playing and engagement in music, and practicing by doing. Every opportunity that students are given to play should be a musical one, as musicality is essential to positive music-making experiences. It helps to encourage creativity and the creation of the student's individual musical language and style of playing. It is the goal to foster a positive environment of learning that encourages the development of a strong work ethic and the ability to make mistakes and learn from their mistakes. It is extremely important that students understand that making mistakes is key to be a successful musician and does not reflect badly on the student at all. Particularly with beginning students of any age, making mistakes can be seen as detrimental to their confidence and abilities if they hold the weight of those mistakes too seriously. As long as students learn and grow from the mistakes they make, they will continue to learn and grow as musicians.
